Full-Time Staff Auditor Position

Job Title: Staff Internal Auditor

Job Brief:

Perform audits of financial/operational nature with direction from an Auditor-in-Charge in accordance with audit work program. This individual is also responsible for identifying and recommending specific audit tests to be performed in routine audit areas.

Job Description:

  • Perform store audits and operational audits in accordance with audit programs under the supervision of the Auditor-in-Charge.
  • Obtain and analyze evidentiary data through interaction with auditee
  • Document procedures, findings, issues and conclusions for workpapers
  • Document detailed process narratives and walkthroughs
  • Identify and recommend to the Auditor-in-Charge specific audit tests to be performed
  • Resolve routine audit issues with auditee staff
  • Assist external auditors with interim and year-end audit procedures
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and reporting on consulting projects
  • Assist in identification of process inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement
  • Take full ownership of performing tasks assigned
  • Keep supervisors informed of project status
  • Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

  • Ability to observe and understand business processes ensuring processes are documented completely and accurately
  • Proactive in researching business best practice concepts in order to apply as appropriate
  • Solid listening skills and ability to identify gaps in logic -- inquisitive
  • Ability to identify underlying cause of an issue raised.
  • Strong organization and follow up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to new circumstances, information, and challenges
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently; proactive in asking clarifying questions to ensure work effort is directed wholly toward desired outcome
  • Able to work with a variety of personnel from hourly store team members to mid-level management
  • Good professional judgment and an analytical mindset
  • Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Required
  • CPA or CIA candidate preferred.
  • 0-2 years prior audit experience preferred; recent graduates also considered.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • This is a full time position (approximately 40-45 hours a week) which will require travel up to 25%.
