Job Description

As a Traffic Coordinator at Rooms To Go, you will have the very important responsibility of working with our North and Central American vendors and carriers, and internally with our Merchandise, Distribution and Logistics teams to ensure product is delivered quickly and cost effectively to our distribution centers. Rooms To Go is the leader in time to deliver and in providing our customers with great value, and we can't be successful without this role.

Some specific responsibilities of the position include:

  • Coordinate receipt and consolidation of inbound product to all RTG locations
  • Evaluate shipments and consolidate loads
  • Analyze shipping modes in order to select most cost effective method of delivery
  • Trace shipments; provide update shipping information
  • Maintain communications with vendors, carriers, buyers, distribution centers and stores
  • Process, issue and distribute all required documentation to all applicable parties

The shift for this position is 8:30 AM -- 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Overtime will be required as needed.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following skills and/or experience:

  • Solid Microsoft Office skills, specifically with Excel and Outlook
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong data entry skills
  • A genuine sense of urgency and a "can do" attitude
  • The ability to be self-motivated and work independently, but also work effectively within a team environment
  • The capability to work well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain focus and a detail orientation
  • 1-2 years minimum experience as an office administrator, delivery dispatcher, or organizational type of role utilizing Outlook and Excel regularly, with a preference being given to candidates that have experience coordinating freight
