Job Description

Rooms To Go is committed to improving product knowledge for our store sales associates and managers. We strive to keep our associates up to speed on all the great products we sell, including mattresses. Due to growth, we are adding a Trainer that will be responsible for the overall mattress sales and specifications training process within the Southeast region. This position will report to the VP of Merchandise (Bedding), and will be accountable to regional store management. Preferable based out of the Atlanta region (can be any SE Division territory), the Regional Mattress Trainer will need to travel up to 60%, visiting store locations within the Southeast (VA, TN, GA, AL, NC, SC) frequently and hold weekend meetings.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Training our sales and management teams,
  • Working with manufacturing representatives to help them to understand our sales processes,
  • Measuring key performance indicators (such as bed-to-bedroom, average ticket, adjustable attachment rate, mattress sales etc.) to determine the effectiveness of specific trainings, areas of concern, and overall adoption of information,
  • Contributing to the overall sales training, thereby increasing mattress sale performance, and
  • Evaluating mattress lineup and placements on the floors, as well as suggesting potential alternatives.

Qualifications:

Considered candidates must have 10+ years of experience within the mattress industry. They will also have either regional management experience with a focus on sales training, or have been a regional sales trainer. A Bachelor's degree would be preferred, but is not required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as solid presentation skills are required.

This person must have the ability to inspire and influence others toward their way of thinking. They should be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The ability to travel extensively and work independently is required.
