Here we grow again! Rooms To Go is currently adding to our Human Resources team, here in Seffner, FL, and we are looking for someone with strong Compensation and Benefits experience, specifically in the world of COMP and Benefits administration.

While overseeing and implementing Rooms To Go's compensation and benefits programs, this position ensures that policies, procedures and programs are in alignment with the organization's overall strategic objectives and HR vision.

This position will research and make recommendations on benefit and compensation plans while evaluating competitor compensation and benefits packages, creating policies and procedures, monitoring the payroll interface to ensure compliance and data integrity, and managing third-party HR vendor relationships such as UHC, Met Life, Quest, Rally, Optum. Ensuring proper data collection and analysis is key to the role as well as the maintenance of accurate associate records.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designs, evaluates and modifies benefits policies to ensure that programs are current, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and makes recommendations. Surveys associates to identify level of benefit satisfaction and possible needs and implements changes based on feedback
  • Administers compensation and benefits programs and evaluates program effectiveness.
  • Manages the design and development of tools to assist associates in benefits selection, and to guide managers through compensation decisions.
  • Analyzes compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop competitive compensation plans.
  • Prepares detailed job descriptions and classification systems and define job levels and families, in partnership with other managers.
  • Oversees the Leave Management benefit programs and processes.
  • Fulfill all reporting requirements such as the 5500 for all relevant government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
  • Prepare documents, reports, and maintains regulatory or compliance documentation related to compliance matters to plan administration such as Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Directs preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform associates of benefits, compensation, and personnel policies.
  • Plans and conducts presentations to support benefit enrollments to foster positive attitude toward our benefit plans and programs including conducting associate training programs.
  • Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates work activities of subordinates and staff relating to benefit, leaves and compensation processes and plans. Actively assists in daily administrative activities.
  • Performs other duties as required.

What we're looking for:

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and requirements that relate to human resource compensation and benefit practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources management, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years' Compensation and Benefit experience or a combination of experience and education.
  • Previous Management/Leadership experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively present and communicate with all levels within the organization, with agencies and vendors.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines and adjust to sudden changes in workflow.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently, take corrective action, and to resolve associate inquiries and requests for information.
  • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving benefits complaints and counseling managers and associates on the interpretation of benefit policies and procedures
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to act independently and take initiative to solve problems, implement solutions, and create new processes.
  • Ability to maintain all job-related information in a confidential and private manner.
  • Ability to work extended hours may be required to meet deadlines, handle unusual workloads or to accomplish organizational priorities.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods in one location which may be restricted to the associate's workstation.
